Here is a good proposal for a better forest use plan:
Dry Lake Hills Area:
Non-Motorized Only. This area would include everything south and east of Schultz creek road, North and east of 180, south of Elden Spring road. Basically no change to this area except that all of Schultz Creek trail would be non-motorized.
Fort Valley Trails:
Non-Motorized AND motorized Dirt bikes only. No ATVS. This would include everything North of 180, East of Snowbowl road and West of Schultz Creek road. Basically no change here except that a few roads would be closed to vehicles south of the pipeline road. Freidlin Praire Road would remain open to Vehicles, but the pipeline would be closed to all motorized except dirt bikes.
Hart Praire:
Basically the same as existing except that several unneccessary spur roads would be closed and converted into Dirt Bike trails to be incorporated in the Around the Peaks trail.
Wing Mountain:
Wing Mountain loop trail should be made an official dirt bike only trail.
Airport Area:
Close several unneeded spur roads, continue to allow dirt bikes and ATVS.
General Forest Areas:
Close several spur roads to vehicle traffic, but continue to allow Dirt Bikes and ATVs to travel freely. This will allow hunters to use their ATVS for game retrieval, but will eliminate the damage done by larger vehicles such as 4x4 trucks.

A Word About NOISE:
Complaints about Noise from off road vehicles can easily be resovled by the following:
- All Vehicles must have an approved muffler with spark arrestor installed.
- All Dirt Bikes and ATVs should turn off their motors if horses approach. Allowing the animals to pass safely.
- Avoid riding near residential areas except in the daytime.
- Avoid installing dirt tracks near residential areas.
- Do Not enter wilderness areas.
- Be courteous - we all share the forest.
